Top 10 food stalls - Part 1 at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre, which is one of the most popular hawker center in Singapore to have some local food from traditional hawkers which are being run for generations. Location: Hong Lim Complex, 531A Upper Cross St, Singapore 051531 MRT: Chinatown MRT (Exit G) 1. Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Since 1952| #02-34. The stall serves 3 types of Crispy Puffs – Potato Chicken & Egg, Potato Sardine & Egg, and Fish Otah. Each is priced at $2. You will notice that the puff is of buttery and flaky type and have an amazing taste. There is “Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Since 1952” at #02-34, and “Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff Original Since 1952” at #02-36, run separately by two brothers. Great taste, savoury, crispy and moist. 2. Tai Wah Pork Noodle | #02-16 A soup served along with minced meat, dumplings, meatballs and seaweed gave a good taste; It also had tender pork slices, liver and sole fish. We ordered both dry and soup versions. Each is priced at S$6. They serve it with either Mee Pok/ Mee Kia (type of noodles) 3. Ji Ji Noodle House | #02-48/49 Michelin recommended Wanton noodles when you are in Singapore. It is loaded with flavourful ingredients. Ji Ji Signature Char Siew Wanton Noodle is their best-selling noodle item, and it is priced at S$4.50. You can also get bigger portions for S$5.50, S$6.50, and S$8.50 if you want the bowl piled with ingredients. In this video, we went over to JiJi Wanton Noodles - One of my fav wanton noodles stall to do a Wanton Noodles challenge for charity! JiJi serves one of the best Wanton Noodles I've tried and have a coveted Michelin plate. Every bowl came loaded with charsiew, plump wantons, vegetables on top of a plate of chewy noodles coated in piquant sauce. The toppings were so generous that barely a trace of noodles can be seen. The challenge was straightforward - the boss Kristine will donate $50 for every bowl of noodle eaten within the 30 minutes time frame. This week, we will be having lunch at Hong Lim Market & Food Centre. Hong Lim Market & Food Centre is easily accessible via Chinatown MRT, coupled with a few minutes walk. Do note that Hong Lim Market & Food Centre consists of two storey of food stalls, hence there are countless number of good food here. We will definitely not be able to cover all of them in 1 video, but I hope to cover most of them eventually. Today, we will only cover some stalls on the 2nd floor. We'll see how it goes in the subsequent videos. The first stall that we are going to try today is Hong Xing Handmade Fishball & Meatball Noodle. Their fishballs and meatballs are handmade fresh daily in the morning and this attracts long queues every day. From the menu, you can choose from the various noodles that you want (soup/dry) or you can choose purely just fishball or meatball soup. Prices start from $4/$5/$6 for the various noodles with fishball, while the pure fishball soup and meatball soup starts from $5 and $6 respectively. We tried the $4 portion fishball noodles with thin egg noodles. The next stall that we will be checking out is Ah Heng Duck Rice. This stall is known for its traditional Teochew-style braised duck. On the menu, the Kway Chap ($4.50 onwards) and Duck Rice ($4/$6). We ordered both the Kway Chap Set $4.50 and Duck Rice $4 to have a taste. The next stall that we tried is the Tuck Kee Ipoh Sah Hor Fun. This stall is known for its silky smooth hor fun and fresh seafood. Over here, you can choose a combination of chicken & prawn, crayfish & prawn, pacific clam & prawn or abalone mushroom & prawn Hor Fun. The stall also offer fresh prawn wanton and vegetable with oyster sauce. We ordered the Chicken Prawn Hor Fun $7. This last stall we tried is this drink stall called Dong Sheng Beverage. The prices of their beverages are very affordable.

This gives the noodles a consistency that's more "wet", a prerequisite for many fried kway teow aficionados. The cockles added to the noodles are fresh and abundant as are the accompanying lup cheong (chinese sausage) and slices of fish cake. Ah Heng is located on the second floor and it is Ah Heng's curry noodles that has our vote. What set Ah Heng's curry broth apart is the quality of each and every component. The chicken is pre-cooked aside, which allows it to be cooked to a perfect succulent bite and the taupok (fried beancurd puff) is thick and airy, which helps it hold up well against the curried broth. Prices begin at $4.50 for a small, $5.50 for a medium and $6.50 for a large bowl. Additional toppings such as the taupok, fishcake or the boneless Hainanese chicken fillet cost a dollar each. Hokkien street Bak Kut Teh belongs to the latter. The pork bone broth here comes the dark brown tones of burnt caramel and the soup has a sweet aftertaste due to the infusion of Chinese herbs. Morning birds will be glad to know that the stall opens as early as 7am, catering to its slew of breakfast-seeking customers. 🤍

HONG LIM HAWKER CENTRE FOOD TOUR Continuing my food journey, i visited one of the famous hawker centre in Singapore that open for 24 hours! Honglim Hawker Centre is located in 531A Upper Cross St, Singapore, near the Chinatown Shopping centre. The foods stand i visited and the foods i bought : 1. Tai Wah Pork Noodle - Classic Pork Noodle 2. Hong Xing Handmade Fishball and Meatball Noodles - Large Fishball Noodle Soup 3. A Char Kway Teow Stand - Char Kway Teow 4. Hong Kee Dumplings - Pork, Mushroom and Chesnut Dumpling 5. Tanglin Crispy Curry Puff ( Michellin star) - Classic Singaporean Curry Puff Overall experience in Hong lim is great. The ambience of the place feels nostalgic and fun. I think the most interesting part is that this hawker open earlier than other hawkers, so if you feeling hungry early in the morning, don't forget to visit Hong Lim. Really recommended! 23nov2019 pmd rider at the rally in Hong Lim Park , got agitated when he talked about the ban on Personal Mobility Devices (PMDs) riding on footpaths in Singapore. PMDs include escooters and unicycles. He said that he had purchased his escooter on 21 Oct 2019 which he registered with LTA. He then went to sign up with Grabfood but before the processing is done, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport, Lam Pim Min announced on 4 Nov that PMDs will not be allowed on footpaths from 5 Nov. Noting that his escooter was purchased under a 12 month installment of $110. He asked who is going to pay for the remaining 10 months of installments that he needs to pay.

Morgan who was caught on video berating security officers. Announcing this news on his Facebook page on Wednesday (30 Oct), Mr Goh called for concerned Singaporeans to “flood the park with our united unhappiness at CECA, Ramesh and 6.9 mil population plan”. “You can be unemployed, under-employed or simply dissatisfied with the current system. If you are a security officer, we want to hear from you as well,” he said in the post.
