We're starting to wonder if we've bitten off more than we can chew 😬 Haul outs are always a struggle, so we really shouldn't be suprised at this point that everything always takes way longer and turns out to be more difficult than planned. We had our trip booked to Sweden already to visit Kazza's family, and we wanted to get as much done as possible while Ryan was still there to help, so with the clock ticking we put our heads down and went for it (with of course a few minor moments of distraction when a dune buggy was calling my name...) But ready or not, we make the long journey to Sweden which was soooo amazing. We didn't film a whole lot while we were there because we wanted to take the time to focus on family and have a much needed break from filming and sharing everything all the time, but it was truly a special trip for us. Sierra absolutely loved getting in some quality time with Mormor, seeing snow for the first time, and just generally having time and space to run around and explore. We were able to really recharge our batteries, which was great because we still had a lottttt of boat work waiting for us when we returned to Mexico! We've done it. We've sailed our abandoned yacht the entire 380 nautical miles home. This gorgeous Bowman 46 was left abandoned in the corner of a yard from 2012 until 2022. But we've gioven her a new lease of life, got her back in the water and now we have completed our journey all the way from the South of England to North Wales. This is a huge refit and refurbishment of this big, old, abandoned steel yacht and it's not only time consuming, it's complicated and quite expensive so we really do value any help we can get, whether it's helpful advice and comments on the video or gifts through our Amazon Wishlist or actual contributions through Patreon, Paypal and Ko-Fi. Today we present part 1 of our adventures (and misadventures) in Puerto Penasco as we prepare Delos for her first big ocean crossing since Brady and Blue took her across the Atlantic while we were in Sweden welcoming little miss Nuggs into the world. Some highlights of this episode include the arrival of the legendary Super Ryan, drilling holes in the hull (one necessary, one not so much 😂), two obscenely large tubs of peanut butter, the classic never ending list of jobs, and a few world class Sierra cuteness moments that will have you smiling for the rest of the day. At the most base level, it's a concept that can manifest itself in the form of a high-speed joyride or defeating one's antagonists, be they Frank Frazetta-rendered warriors or the guy/girl who was looking at your lover too long at the biker bar and now has a concussion and a collection of broken pool cues. On Devildriver's sixth release, Winter Kills, the band certainly didn't skimp on the riffage, the idling-dragster tempos or the sheer sonic drive that makes them one of heavy music's respected outfits. Winter Kills is all about the creation of flashover moments to empower people with hope and affirmation—or at the very least, the inspiration for people to create great work and engineer their own meaningful universes. This ain't no tired Tony Robbins posi-posturing or Joel Osteen's cartoony, cash-and-Christ posing. The world got more oppressive, and Devildriver are stepping up their game to keep hope alive in the most bone-powdering, cochlea-bleeding, neck-snapping way possible.
