I wanted to show you a special place in my heart in Italy, that not many tourists from North America let alone anywhere really venture off to, the region of Abruzzo. The region of Abruzzo is truly undiscovered and I hope this video sheds some light on it as it really deserves to get far more recognition as a place to visit in Italy. This film will show you the many incredible things about the region of Abruzzo, from the incredible local delicacies like Arrosticini, a staple of the region, to trying some good albeit very strange food on a Trabboci on the coast of the Adriatic and tasting some of the local Montepulciano wines. Called the green lung of Italy, most of Abruzzo is covered in National Parks and they are some of the most incredible you will ever see! Besides exploring the many national parks at your disposal, another one of my favourite things to do in Abruzzo is explore the many mediavel villages, with such untouched beauty that you feel as though you've stepped back in time. DOMANI 21/04.09 ARTISTI UNITI PER LABRUZZO Il 21 aprile 2009 è stato un giorno importante per la musica italiana: cinquantasei tra i più grandi artisti della nostra storia recente, presente e futura si sono ritrovati alle Officine Meccaniche di Milano per registrare una canzone tutti insieme, Domani 21/04.09. Lo scopo di Domani 21/04.09 - Artisti uniti per lAbruzzo è raccogliere fondi per sostenere gli interventi di ricostruzione, consolidamento e restauro del Conservatorio Alfredo Casella e della sede del Teatro Stabile dAbruzzo dellAquila. La prima telefonata è stata quella tra Lorenzo e Giuliano dei negramaro, nel giro di pochi minuti si è unito Mauro Pagani e in poche ore la rete si è allargata fino a raccogliere ladesione immediata di Caterina Caselli e Marco Sorrentino, cantanti, musicisti, band, manager, discografici, tecnici e di tutte le persone che hanno reso possibile la realizzazione di questo progetto. La musica italiana in meno di una settimana, attraverso un passaparola senza precedenti, si è data appuntamento con una sola regola: quella di essere fisicamente tutti insieme nello stesso posto - gli studi Officine Meccaniche di Milano di Mauro Pagani - nelle stesse ore, senza utilizzare la rete o le tecnologie. Per condividere una partecipazione reale, per documentare l'emozione vera che tutti hanno vissuto in quelle ore, perché a volte cè bisogno di ritrovarsi, di mettere il proprio tempo a disposizione di una causa che supera le esigenze artistiche di tutti i giorni. Il ruolo della musica ha da sempre un valore nei passaggi importanti di una comunità, la musica risuona nei momenti di difficoltà e nei momenti di festa, serve ad elaborare le emozioni e a dargli un posto. Nel nostro paese non cè mai stata uniniziativa con un cast così ampio e vario, composto da artisti così noti eppure così diversi per stile, esperienze, età e genere musicale. Il risultato è sorprendente, emozionante ed omogeneo. Il brano esprime il meglio del nostro caleidoscopio musicale, con il suo carico di umanità, di talento e con qualcosa in più di unico. Ogni cantante ha partecipato con la sua storia, ogni intervento, anche di una sola parola, riesce ad aprire un mondo. Ognuno ha abbassato le sue difese e si è messo a nudo con la sua voce. DOMANI 21/04.09 è un progetto storico, di grande impatto sociale, perché per la prima volta gli artisti tutti insieme, con management e case discografiche, hanno dimostrato che esiste una scena compatta quando l'urgenza lo richiede, una scena musicale che vive come tradizione e retaggio, ma anche come presenza vitale nella società e come proiezione futura. Penne is located between Abruzzo's Gran Sasso & Monti della Laga National Park and the Adriatic Sea offering the most most dramatic views! Start your tour at the monumental entrance to the town - San Francesco's gate (rebuilt in 1780) and wander round exploring at your leisure. Many of the churches are currently closed for restoration but there is still so much to see and so many little boutiques, bars and cafes to visit! We moved to Loreto Aprutino, in Abruzzo, 2 months ago. Most of our friends and family had never heard of Abruzzo, and it's definitely not on the typical tourist circuit. Hopefully this video will show everyone why we have fallen in love with this part of Italy.

It is divided into four provinces: L'Aquila, Teramo, Pescara, and Chieti. Its western border lies 80 km (50 mi) east of Rome. Abruzzo borders the region of Marche to the north, Lazio to the west and north-west, Molise to the south and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Geographically, Abruzzo is divided into a mountainous area in the west, which includes the highest massifs of the Apennines, such as the Gran Sasso d'Italia and the Maiella, and a coastal area in the east with beaches on the Adriatic Sea. Abruzzo is considered a region of Southern Italy in terms of its culture, language, history, and economy, though in terms of physical geography it may also be considered part of Central Italy. These ensure the survival of rare species, such as the golden eagle, the Abruzzo (or Abruzzese) chamois, the Apennine wolf and the Marsican brown bear. Abruzzo's parks and reserves host 75% of Europe's animal species. The region is also home to Calderone, one of Europe's southernmost glaciers. Nineteenth-century Italian diplomat and journalist Primo Levi (1853–1917) chose the adjectives forte e gentile ("strong and kind") to capture what he saw as the character of the region and its people. Hi everyone, welcome back to another episode of our renovation story. Today, is finally the day we move permanently from our rental house in Abruzzo, to our own home in Molise. No more driving back and forth and long days of renovating in Molise, to return to Abruzzo to sleep and do everything all over again a few days later! We are thrilled, but in saying that, there is a bitter sweet to this move. This rental house has been a home during a very difficult time for us. A time when we didn't know if we had made a mistake leaving Australia, although we felt, that there was no other option but to finally follow our hearts. We will visit an antique store looking for things for our house, introduce ourselves at our local bakery, finish (almost) the ensuite, and my favourite part: Plant some flowers for the balconies.
