We decided to leave Marrakesh (Morocco) and take a bus to Agadir. The plan was to spend few days in the costal city of Agadir, relax, enjoy the beach and soak it the Moroccan culture. but things didn't really go as expected. Is Agadir worth visiting? VISIT THE MEMOIRE D'AGADIR Visit the Memoire d'Agadir If you are wondering what to do in Agadir, definitely visit the Memoire d'Agadir. This small museum on the edge of the Jardin de Olho tells about the terrible earthquake that hit Agadir in 1960. You won't find any high-tech displays. Instead, there are newspaper clippings and photos that explain what happened and how it killed more than 17,000 people and destroyed most of the city. The museum also shows how Agadir has changed since the 1920s. It is in a quiet garden with palm trees and cacti. Number 5. SHOP IN THE SOUK EL HAD D'AGADIR Shop in the Souk El Had d'Agadir Souk El Had is open every day except Monday, so you can take in its colours, smells, and sights. It's one of the biggest markets in Morocco, with about 6,000 stalls spread out over more than 13ha (32 acres). You can enter through one of 12 gates and look around stores filled with everything from spices to piles of colourful fruits and vegetables, clay tagines, handmade rugs, and home goods. Even though some sellers have set prices, most of the time you can negotiate. Number 4. EAT AT LES BLANCS Eat at Les Blancs Visit the Spanish-Mediterranean restaurant Les Blancs if you want to eat while taking in a beautiful view. This popular restaurant is on Agadir Beach, right in front of the marina. It has terraces where you can sit outside and watch the sea. Fresh seafood and tapas are on the menu, and there are even 10 different kinds of paella. The staff is known for their friendly service, which brings in both locals and yachters. Number 3.RELAX IN A HAMMAM Relax in a hammam A must thing to do in Agadir is relax in a hammam. A trip to a hammam is a great way to get a taste of Moroccan culture. It's a sacred ritual for the people who live there, and they usually go there once a week to get a deep clean and meet new people. Open your pores with steam, and then get ready for a deep body scrub with black-olive-oil soap, which will leave you feeling completely clean. If you want a more luxurious experience, go to the Argan Palace, where you can choose a private hammam followed by a relaxing massage. Number 2.HIT THE BEACH Hit the beach Agadir is the most popular beach town in Morocco. It has a long stretch of honey-colored sand that is great for sunbathing. The beach at nearby Essaouira is almost always beaten up by the Atlantic winds, but this one is protected and the waves break far out to sea. During the busy summer months, the beach will be clean and there will be lifeguards on duty. Number 1.AGADIR OUFELLA Agadir Oufella You can hike up to the Agadir Oufella ruins, also called the Kasbah, which are on a hilltop and look out over the fishing port and beach of the city. Explore what's left of this old fortress. It was built in 1540 to protect Agadir from Portuguese attacks, but an earthquake in 1960 destroyed it. Mor Acro finally makes it to CrocoPark Agadir Morocco and he is surprised at what he finds. Crocodiles would be expected, but what we found was so much more. An exploration in both nature and Moroccan culture, we even received free henna inside the park. In addition to crocodiles, there were happy iguanas and anacondas to enjoy while being surrounded by beautiful gardens.

Last time i was in Agadir, was in January 2020, and since then, A LOT have CHANGED. Its really crazy how much change a city can provide in such a short time....... how ever... there were a pandemic..... The lift up to the mountain is totally new. Roads that gave a good flow in traffic, has now become... worse and gives even more traffic jams. When i was driving in Agadir, I was wondering WHO destroyed the traffic? Probably some extremely paid person in some government who has no understanding what so ever the relation to increase of population and need for more roads. I still love Agadir, but the traffic... i will not start to write about that.

Our first cruise stop in Morocco with Norwegian Sun. We had an interesting day touring Agadir. We especially enjoyed walking through the colorful and bustling souk. It was such an unique shopping experience, a feast for our eyes and our senses! We also got to taste our first Moroccan dish of chicken tagine. It was very delicious and flavorful. Agadir is a city in the southwestern part of Morocco, located on the Atlantic coast in the Souss region, 508km south of Casablanca , 173 km from Essaouira and 235 km west of Marrakesh. It is nicknamed "the capital of Souss 6 ", Agadir is the capital of the Souss-Massa administrative region and the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane . According to the 2014 census, Agadir had 421,844 inhabitants that year, and the population of the prefecture of Agadir Ida-Outanane was 600,599 inhabitants. The local population of the town is Chleuhe and is predominantly Chleuhophone . Darija , the most common foreign language in the city, is used as a lingua franca by non - Berber -speaking Moroccans residing there. Devastated by an earthquake in 1960 , the city was entirely rebuilt according to mandatory seismic standards. It is now the largest seaside resort in Morocco with an exceptionally mild climate all year round. Reisebericht über unsere Kreuzfahrt mit Mein Schiff 4 von TUI Cruises vom 21. - 29. Januar 2023. Los ging es auf Gran Canaria. Nach dem ersten Seetag folgte dann Agadir, von wo aus wir einen Ausflug in die Oasenstadt Taroudant unternahmen. Auf Lanzarote besuchten wir unter anderem eine Craftbeer-Brauerei, die grüne Lagune und den Mirador der Rio. Einen Tag später ging es für uns auf 3718m - wir bestiegen den Pico del Teide. Nicht ganz so schönes Wetter hatten wir auf La Gomera, trotzdem fuhren wir durch die Berge und besuchten auch die Küste, bevor es anschließend zurück nach Gran Canaria ging.

De apenas unos 100.000 habitantes, es una ciudad muy moderna que en algunas ocasiones incluso nos hace olvidar que estamos en Marruecos. Su interés radica en su localización, ya que se encuentra rodeada por el Anti Atlas, el desierto de Sáhara, parques naturales y playas aisladas de mucha calidad, fácilmente accesibles desde la ciudad. Con sus soleadas playas de arena fina, Agadir se ha convertido en un floreciente destino turístico. Esta ciudad carece de medina y de los bullicios propios de la vida marroquí. Una playa donde se mezcla el turismo extranjero con el local… y con muchos partidos de fútbol. Al final de la tarde aquel pedazo de arena y mar parecía una ciudad deportiva.
