Number 2, the bolt and charging handle. For the bolt it’s rock solid, feels like it’s 1 solid piece, and feels like it’s got some power to it. For the bolt release, it gives you a more realistic training feel since it’s harder to press meaning and won’t accidentally press it by brushing your hand over it. Number 3, the overall build quality is outstanding. From the amazing barrel and it’s trademarks, the parts used inside the trigger group, the bolt, and the body of the gun. It just feels like one solid rifle. Number 4, the real steel compatibility. You don’t need to Dremel anything and it can take Magpul accessories out of the box, which is a HUGE plus for me. Number 5, the hop up adjustment. The hop up is so easy to adjust with just a turn of a dial and you can easily zero in your gun by just leaving the bottom part of the rail off. From broken feed lips to leaking mags, I just haven’t had good experiences with them. Number 2, removing the RIS. Getting the RIS back on feels impossible. If you’re leaving the gun stock or are replacing the rail, then this isn’t much of an issue. Number 3, plastic hop up chamber. You can fix the issue by buying a metal hop up chamber but I don’t want to put another $100 on top of $1000 already spent on the gun only for it to work for a few more mags. Number 4, chopped BBs jamming the trigger group. This hasn’t happened to any other gun I’ve owned except the GHK. It’s hard to clean because you need to get into the crevices which are pretty deep. Number 5, rail compatibility is limited to accommodate the hop up chamber. AEG rail systems won’t fit unless the barrel nut is wider, have to use GHK GBBR rails. For minor things: Number 1, mags don’t drop free. Only the mag that came with the gun is the mag that drops free. All of the other mags that were bought separately don’t drop free. Number 2, stuck selector switch. Sometimes gets stuck and was stiff out of the box. Doesn’t go to safe sometimes. Number 3, hard to remove receiver pin. Very inconvenient, requires tools. Number 4, flimsy dust cover. It literally bent the first time I used it and it feels super thin. Number 5, receiver looks cut. For $1000 this shouldn’t happen. Here we tested the VFC BCM (V3) Gas Blowback for a quick gas efficiency test. One magazine in consecutive Semi-Auto and immediately, another mag for a full mag dump. Then we do the same for a GHK M4 (V2) Gbbr to have a brief comparison. All tests were using Propane gas at the room temperature of 18-19 Celsius. Enjoy! The GHK M4 had a Maple Leaf Hop Up chamber and barrel. The TM M4 had a SixG Super Hop Up Nub. 0:26 - GHK M4 FPS 1:01 - TM M4 FPS 2:34 - GHK M4 50ft 3:05 - GHK M4 100ft 3:49 - GHK M4 150ft 4:51 - TM M4 50ft 5:25 - TM M4 100ft 6:06 - TM M4 150ft 7:15 - GHK M4 175ft 9:32 - TM M4 175ft 11:42 - Analysis As expected from a gas gun the first few shots are going to be higher FPS and the last few shots lower. We had a high velocity of 341.4 fps, a low velocity of 293.9fps, and a spread of 47.5fps. The average velocity was 318.6 fps and the average shot to shot variation was 12 fps. For the TM M4 we had a high velocity of 336.8fps, a low velocity of 306.0 fps, and a spread of 30.8fps. The average velocity was 321.5fps and the average shot to shot variation was 5 fps. Let’s take a look at the GHK M4 and TM M4 FPS results. The high, low, and average velocity is important for staying within field FPS limits but we will mainly look at the spread. The GHK M4 had a spread of 47.5 fps whereas the TM M4 had a spread of 30.8. There was a difference of 17 fps between the GHK vs TM M4. When comparing accuracy consistency is very important, which means less shot to shot variation is what we’re looking for. The GHK had an average shot to shot variation of 12 fps, whereas the TM had a shot to shot variation of 5 fps. Also, if you take a look at the numbers, the TM had much less variation between each shot. The GHK got 33 out of 33 hits and a horizontal spread of 13 centimetres and vertical spread of 19 centimetres. At 100 ft, the GHK got 22 out of 28 with a horizontal spread of 31 centimetres and a vertical spread of 36 cm. At 150 ft, the GHK got 5 out of 34 with a horizontal spread and vertical spread of over 41 centimetres. AT 50 ft the TM got 33 out of 33 with a horizontal spread of 8cm and a vertical spread of 10cm. At 100 ft the TM got 32 out of 33 with a horizontal spread of 27cm and a vertical spread of 17cm. At 150 ft the TM got 26 out of 31 with a horizontal spread of 32cm and a vertical spread of 37cm. At 50 ft both guns hit the target 100 percent of the time. At 100 ft the GHK hit the target 79% whereas the TM got 97%. At 150ft the GHK hits at 15% and the TM 84%. For the maximum range test the GHK M4 hits 3% semi auto, 6% to 10% on full auto. For the TM M4, it hit at 57 to 65 percent on semi and 26 to 47% on full auto. In conclusion, the upgraded TM M4 with the SixG Super Hop Up Nub clearly outperforms the GHK M4 with the maple leaf hop up. This has been a small project of mine for almost a year, and it’s basically a quest to modify the WE G36C GBBR to run AR/M4 type magazines. I had no success using the original WE G36 magazine gas tank inside a stanag/AR-15 magazine shell, so I’ve chosen to use GHK mags instead.
