With just a green screen and a camera you can place yourself in any environment or background you want. But how do they create this effect with such precision? Normally you turn to Adobe After Effects for Green keying, due to it's many options. However it's also possible to achieve the same effect in Premiere Pro with the added bonus of faster performance. In this tutorial we explain how to use the ultra key tool in Premiere Pro to achieve a clean green key look and refine it. Sometimes there is too much contrast in the shadows and highlights for you to get a good key, resulting in a bad grainy background composite. Today I want to show you my quick little trick using the HSL secondary tab in the lumetri color panel. In this video I give you an update on my last video. 1) select your green screen area 2) Soften and saturate the green screen 3) De-contrast the shadows and the highlights 4) Make sure you color pick 3 channels, instead of just 1 I use this trick and preset daily so it's definitely a good tool to have in the toolbox! TL;DR: Use hue vs. hue. Davinci Resolve also has Hue vs. Hue! Photoshop can also do this. The hue/saturation panel has an eyedropper/color picker! Then you can adjust what colors are affected, and use the sliders to change the hue, saturation, and lightness. I don't know if Vegas Pro has Hue vs. Hue. (Maybe use an HSL key instead?)
