What are the largest crustaceans in the world? In this video i will be answering this question and more as I will be going through 5 of the largest crustaceans in the world. Crustaceans are some of the weirdest creatures on this planet and over the millions of years that they have been on earth, they've managed to conquer almost all ecosystems. The main types of crustaceans I will be going through in this video are crabs, lobsters, and giant isopods. American lobsters are normally found in deep rocky areas when they hunt down smaller fish and crustaceans. Our next giant crustacean is the giant Japanese spider crab. The giant Japanese spider crab is a large deep sea crab that is found off the coast of Australia. The giant Japanese spider crab uses its long legs to hunt and scavenge on the ocean floor. Another giant crustacean is the giant isopod. The giant isopod is any of around 20 giant species of isopod that can be found in the worlds deep seas. The giant isopods can go a long time without feeding and normally scavenge on other creatures. Our final giant crustacean is the red king crab. The red king crab is also know as the Alaskan king crab as they are commonly found around Alaska. These giant crabs are now and invasive species around Norway. We chose the BIGGEST seafood and had a MASSIVE FEAST of Chinese seafood! At Hongxing Restaurant, you can choose any seafood you like and order it in many different Chinese cooking styles. For this video, we are choosing 2 of the biggest crabs in the restaurant, cooked 2 different ways! These are probably the BIGGEST crabs in the world! AND, we're choosing a GIANT Lobster too! The Chinese restaurant also serves many classic Chinese food dishes along with seafood, but for this video, we are taking our guests for $3400 worth of Chinese seafood at one of the most expensive restaurants in China. It literally is a seafood aquarium , full of exotic seafood from around the world. We're giving you a seafood tour of Hongxing restaurant in Guangzhou, China, and then going into the back kitchen to watch the cooking process, followed by feasting on the most expensive meal of my life! Over 15 KG of seafood! First, we grab the giant king crab (with giant king crab legs) and giant lobster, and then we go for more exotic seafoods. We ordered geoduck from Canada, abalone, mantis shrimp, scallops, and water beetles. But the MEGA specialty was of course the king crab and biggest lobster in the world too! The best part about this whole extreme meal was going into the back kitchen. We watched the entire cooking process and Chinese recipe for the 2 crabs and the 1 lobster. Each crab was cooked differently. The crab was cooked "bifengtang" style with mountains of garlic and a light touch of chili. The other crab was steamed with garlic. Both were incredibly delicious! The lobster was cooked in a slightly sweet ginger sauce that was also very delicious! Out of all of these seafoods, my personal favourite was the steamed garlic crab. It was so juicy! ► This video shares some instructions for entering our 3 million subscribers giveaway. It's very simple. Watch until the end to learn how to enter. Since ancient times, man has eaten all kinds of underwater creatures: fish, shellfish and arthropods. But people have special preferences for crustaceans. This group of sea creatures is considered a luxury food. In fact, three-quarters of the world's first cookbook ever consisted of recipes based on crustaceans. Today, the meat of these creatures, rich in protein and almost calorie-free, is a main ingredient in many national cuisines. Crabs, crayfish, shrimp and lobsters are consumed in France, Spain, Portugal, Japan and many other countries. However, among the 72 thousand varieties of these creatures, the percentage of crustaceans that are consumed by humans is quite small, because there are many dangerous, strange and frightening species. Do you want to see them? That's what we're gonna show you today. 🤍

In the Porsanger Fjord (Norway), a predator is menacing the biodiversity : the red king crab, also called Kamchatka crab. Not originally found in Europe, King crabs were introduced by men before conquering the northern European Artic coast a few decades ago. Fierce invader, the king crab has an insatiable appetite and devours all prey that comes within its reach. It can grow to a leg span of 1.8 m (5.9 ft), and weigh up to 10 kg (22 lb). Watch more videos in our new App: 🤍 And check out some awesome Bright Side MERCH 💡 (open globally!) here: 🤍 One day, all the crabs disappeared. People searched in the seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, rainforests. Not a single, live crab… only old shells. Crabs shed, or molt several times during their life. Their body keeps growing, but their shell doesn’t. So they throw off their old "suit" and hide. They sit there in silence until their new one grows. But why did every single crab molt on the same day? Where are they hiding? Crabs dig burrows when they molt. Deep down in the sand, they’re protected from predators and bad weather. This time, something weird happened. They hid way deeper than ever before, so they had more time to grow. For 6 months, they’ve been sitting and waiting for their new shell to grow. And they grew so large that small shellfish and algae are just not enough, and they want more food... Okay, this is one more crazy what-if question for those who love hypothetical scenarios. So, what if our oceans were filled with giant crabs? #brightside Preview photo credit: Marmaris/Turkey - July 2019: Marina in Marmaris, bird's eye view photographs: By Budilnikov Yuriy/Shutterstock.com, 🤍 Animation is created by Bright Side. Thievery and treachery are second nature for the world's largest land crab. This documentary explores the untold story of Christmas Island's iconic robber crabs. Armed with claws that deliver more force than a lion's bite, they can grow a metre across and are relentless in their search for food. However, the brash crustaceans have surprisingly complex private lives and often find themselves in precarious situations, whether escaping from frenzied ants or risking their life to deposit fertilised eggs into a raging ocean. To tell the story of the robber crab's life cycle, directors Moritz Katz and Braydon Moloney spent a year in the field, following their subjects in minute detail. The tragedies, trials and triumphs paint a fresh, humorous portrait of Christmas Island and its nefarious denizens.
