Learn how to replace the ENTIRE front suspension of your car in this two episode series. Here I will show you how to install a brand new wheel bearing, ball joints, control arms, tie rod, strut, and axle. The ball joint and wheel bearing has to be pressed into the knuckle and I have a bunch of tips and tricks to make that easy. I show how to properly install a tie rod (safely) and get an accurate measurement so you can get the car aligned. I also show you how to properly torque down bolts with bushings so you don't tear them. The rest of the suspension parts are pretty simple to install and then we go for a ride to see how much better the car handles! The new QUAD-LEAF front suspension is standard on both vans and chassis cabs (up to 3.5 tonnes). It adopts a double wishbone scheme with transversal leaf spring, with new components and a completely new geometry that improves roll behaviour and increases roll stiffness. But the new suspension also achieves excellent results in terms of noise, vibration and loading performance. Maximum load on axle has been improved to 1,900 kg and a 40 kg payload increase has been achieved on chassis cabs, due to system integration. The new QUAD-LEAF substantially improves manoeuverability and handling at all loads. We have managed to maintain all advantages of the rear-wheel drive while minimising its inherent oversteer and producing a better anti-roll and anti-dive action. Also steering geometry has been revised, camber has been optimized in all situations, and toe in angle has been modified in order to make steering more progressive. DAILY handling is now much more intuitive and predictable in line with that of a passenger car. Also emergency manoeuvers are now safer in all load conditions. Handling improvement is measured by the increase in lateral acceleration: +25% corresponding to 0.74 g: an impressive performance for a commercial vehicle.

This is done to damp road shocks transmitted parts that perform this function are called a suspension system. Thus, the suspension system includes springs, shock absorbers, and mountings. The suspension system of a motor vehicle is divided into rear-end suspension and front-end suspension. Types of Suspension Systems: Independent suspension: In this type of suspension, each front wheel is independently supported by a coil, torsion bar, or leaf spring. Most passenger cars now use independent front suspension, in which the coil spring system is the most common. Types of Independent suspension: 1. Macpherson Strut Suspension 2. Double Wishbone Suspension 3. Multilink Suspension 4. Trailing Arm Suspension Non-Independent or Rigid axle suspension: This type of suspension was universally used before independent front wheel suspension was introduced. It may use either two longitudinal leaf springs, as shown in the figure, or transverse springs, usually in conjunction with shock absorbers. These assemblies are mounted similarly to rear leaf spring suspensions. Types of Non-Independent or Rigid axle suspension: 1. Solid Axle Leaf Spring Suspension 2. In this video we make MASSIVE progress on the Drift Truck! First, we get the front frame 100% bare, clean, and ready for fabrication. Then, we make a suspension jig off Hunter's 240SX S13 and transfer that jig into the Drift Truck's chassis. This will allow us to accurately fabricate a tube frame around the jig. As many of you know, I've had my E36 sedan since early October 2021. I have, somehow, managed to leave the car completely stock and untouched for the past 7 months; which is the longest I've EVER left a car of mine untouched. While it's been extremely refreshing enjoying the true feeling of an all original low mileage E36, as intended, I finally feel that it's an appropriate time to fix some loose ends on the car and make it more unique to my personality. A couple video's ago, I completely stripped the front suspension of my 1968 Road Runner Clone (Sport Satellite). After the front end was cleaned and painted, I completely restored under the hood with new paint. With the front end painted and looking brand new, it was time to re-install all new front end components. New ball joints, tie rods, bushings, shocks, swap bar end links, brake lines, wheel cylinders, brake shoes ect ect. EVERY SINGLE PIECE of the front end is all new brand name parts. This hot rod should drive good as new once the motor is between the rails.
