The Polish state was the first to fall in this war, yet across the globe Polish soldiers are fighting on land, air, and sea as part of the United Nations alliance. The story of the tens of thousands of men and women fighting for Polish liberation is equal parts hope and hardship as they battle the enemy and even sometimes their own allies. The Second World War in Europe began with the German Invasion of Poland, leading to around a month of fighting involving Nazi, Soviet, and Polish forces before the country fell on the 6th of October 1939. Many Polish soldiers would escape capture, escaping to join British and French forces in the West to continue the struggle against the Germans. Almost 60,000 Poles would fight in French service against the Blitzkrieg during the Battle of France from May-June of 1940. The Polish are a people tempered by the fires of war and a true testament to human resilience. In the inferno of World War II, Poland endured, not only surviving occupation by two ruthless juggernauts but making crucial contributions to the Allied victory and holding on to what it means to be Polish despite unspeakable risk. The Polish resistance is arguably the greatest resistance in history. The Invasion of Poland brought forth some of the worst persecution to a country that the world had ever seen. The Invasion Of Poland was the birth of The Polish Resistance. The Invasion of Poland is a story of defiance, bravery and perseverance. The courage displayed by the polish people is inspiring and deserves to be remembered. The people of Poland are always keen to remember the the political idolatries that caused the Invasion of Poland of 1939. - 🤍 - Certified Rad Playlist #polishresistance #poland

In this video I share with you 3 possible legends on where the salute of the Polish soldiers might be coming from. Short video clips come from this YouTube video of the Polish military parade: 🤍
Major battles and campaigns in which Polish regular forces took part: * Invasion of Poland (1939) o Battle of Kock (1939) o Battle of Mokra o Battle of the Bzura River o Battle of Tomaszów Lubelski o Battle of Warsaw (1939) o Battle of Wizna * British campaign in Norway (Battle of Narvik) * French Campaign * Battle of Britain * Battle of the Atlantic * Battle of Tobruk * Operation Jubilee (Battle of Dieppe) * Battle of Lenino * Battle of Normandy (D-Day) * Battle of Monte Cassino * Battle of Falaise * Operation Market Garden (Battle of Arnhem: "A Bridge Too Far") * Battle of Ancona * Battle of Bologna * Battle of Berlin * Prague Offensive * Polish underground actions: o Operation Tempest (Burza) + Operation Ostra Brama + Lwów Uprising + Warsaw Uprising
When it comes to the Battle of Britain, it was actually a group of Polish pilots (and a Czech) who became the top-scoring RAF pilots in 1940. This is amazing seeing that no one thought they could face the enemy again after Poland's defeat in 1939. But was it really that surprising? This is the amazing story of the men who fled Poland and made it to France and Britain to continue the fight against the Wehrmacht. It's actually not that surprising they did so well after all. Corrections: I got the name of the Polish company wrong, should be PZL P. 11, not PLZ P.11. 📢 Do you need affordable legal advice from the comfort of your own home? The armies of the countries of mainland Europe were powerless to stop Hitler's war machine as it crushed all in its path during the early months of World War 2.
