Today I run into Belgrade's most famous snacks; its women! And I ask them a few questions about their beauty and where it originates from. See, we have much lower beauty standards in the United States. So I came here to ask these Queens why they develop into women that makes others around the world envy them. IG: 🤍 Patreon: 🤍

Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan hosted its annual holiday tree lighting ceremony this week in the Republic Square. The 16 participants of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 lit up the city’s main New Year Tree. Armenia is set to host the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan this weekend. The Armenian Report attended the tree lighting ceremony and asked the attendees what they wish for 2023. Every single person we spoke with all said that they wish for peace in Armenia. From all ages, young and old, Armenians want to live in a peaceful country. This year’s holiday lights have become a controversial topic in Armenia. The historic buildings in Republic Square have been lit up with holidays lights — and experts say the nails holding the lights onto the buildings may cause damage to the almost 100 year old structures that belong to the public. The Armenian Report did a follow-up story. Check back for the continuation for our interview with an honored Armenian architect in Armenia.

During the Soviet period it was called the Lenin Square and a statue of Lenin stood at the square and military parades were held twice (originally thrice) a year. After Armenia's independence Lenin's statue was removed and the square was renamed. It has been described as Armenia's and the city's "most important civic space",Yerevan's "architectural highlight" and the city's "most outstanding architectural ensemble". One author suggested that it is "certainly one of the finest central squares created anywhere in the world during the 20th century." The building is home to the Government of Armenia (the council of government ministers and not the entire executive branch). It originally housed the People's Commissariat (the executive of Soviet Armenia). The north-western portion, built in 1926-29, was designed by Alexander Tamanian. The construction of the rest of the building was taken up by Gevorg Tamanian, Alexander's son, in 1938 and finished in 1941. It was completed in 1958 according to the design of Mark Grigorian and Eduard Sarapian. The hotel was called Armenia during the Soviet period. 🤍 Trg Republike (Republic Square) is a large, open square surrounded on three sides by a collection of elaborate neo-Renaissance buildings known as the Prokurative. On the southern side, the square opens up to a lovely view of the harbour. Construction of the Prokurative started during the latter half of the 19th century under the supervision of General Marmont, with the buildings inspired largely by the architecture of the same period in Venice. While relatively unoccupied in the cooler months, the square comes alive in the summer with concerts and cultural events, the most popular being the Entertainment Musical Festival of Split. It's getting warmer and warmer in Prague. Let's walk from Republic Square to Old Town Square today. Republic Square is situated on the site of the former moat between the Old and New Towns. The ample open space near the medieval city center inspired the construction of several significant buildings at the turn of the 20th century, such as the Municipal House (Obecní dům) near the Powder Tower (Prašná brána), the Hybernia House (Dům U Hybernů) and the Jiří z Poděbrad Barracks. A large part of the square is now a pedestrian zone connecting the two large shopping centers, Palladium and Kotva. 🤍 The Old Town Square is the oldest and most important square in historical Prague. It is surrounded by historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and Church of Our Lady before Tyn, and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague Old Town since the middle ages when it was a marketplace crossing European merchants' roads. The first houses were built around the Old Town Square in the 12 and 13 centuries. Some present homes still have Romanesque or Gothic foundations, basements, or ground floors. The Old Town City Hall was built in the 14 century and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn a little later. The Old Town Square became Prague Old Town's economic and political center. 🤍 Dlouhá is a street in Prague's Old Town in the Prague 1 district, connecting Old Town Square and Revoluční Street. The street runs from Old Town Square in a north-easterly direction, turns in an arc to the east, parallel to the Vltava, and flows vertically into Revoluční street. Historically, one of the most critical trade routes has been running here since the formation of the settlement around Old Town Square, which continued through the German merchant settlement in the Petrská čtvrt area (around Petrské náměstí) to the ford near Štvanice and further, where it connected Prague with Pojizeří and Eastern Bohemia. Today, its economic and transport importance is somewhat secondary, but many good restaurants and cafes are located here. 🤍 Recorded in 4k 60fps HDR Perception Philosophy © 2023 20 March 2023 Czech Republic ASMR
