My sewing studio was long overdue for a refresh and some organization. I started with two new wardrobes from Ikea flanking my Highlead sewing machine. From there, I removed extra bulk from tables and paired down a lot of stuff that can easily overcrowd an already small sewing shed. I am so thankful for this little space to come in and clear my head and sew and dream up new ideas. It's even more inspiring when it's clean! We're so excited to show you our shed transformation! It went from an old, dirty overstuffed shed to a functional, stress free multi purpose place where we can find what we need, and have a place to sit if we like. We still wanted to use it for storage, but wanted it to be pretty too! This has been a source of frustration for quite a while, and we were holding on to too much stuff. Finally, the highly requested She Shed video. I am so very proud of this project. I purchased this building as a shell. My husband and I did all the electrical work (with the help of our electrician friend), insulated the building, put up all the drywall, ceiling panels, painted, installed the A/C unit, and laid down the wood floors. We even framed, cut down and installed the custom French doors in the back. This was truly our labor of love and it was so much fun doing this project together during lockdown. We definitely bonded and I loved learning from my hubby, who can truly do it all. I am absolutely in love with my little Oasis/Office. #sheshed

DIY Shed Exterior Makeover | How to Paint a Shed | Building Shed Doors | She Shed Makeover Tour Hey babies! Thank you so much for being here! I'm sharing my DIY shed exterior makeover in this video. Our backyard storage shed was looking pretty rough and it was time to give it a bit of a facelift, which included building new doors. The first thing I needed to tackle was painting the exterior - so I start with cleaning and prepping for paint, which includes power washing, scrubbing, and sanding the shed exterior. I chose to just do a neutral gray color for the exterior paint - linked below. I am a beginner as far as wood working goes, so building these new shed doors was a good newbie project. I followed the old rotten doors as a template for the new ones. I always run into some road blocks with my DIY projects, and this one was no different. I also changed the light fixture and added some hydrangeas for extra curb appeal. A basic guide on how to insulate a she shed. I'm working on renovating an old shed into my she shed space. This was my process for insulating the walls. I had a company apply spray foam insulation for the ceiling as the ceilings are quite high. The shed will be heated and cooled using a mini split. A little getaway that’s not too far away! I’ve been dreaming of my own space for a long time. I still can’t believe the day has come and my she shed is finally finished. This is a place where I can go where it’s quiet and also use as my office. It’s great because I can set office hours, work in the she shed and then come back to my house and do regular after work duties. It’s basically like I’m going to the office during the day and home at night. Most sheds are 10×10, 10×12 or 12×12. The one we built is 10×12 and it’s the perfect size. There is no single blueprint for a she shed because it’s personal preference on what you want in your space, but this guide will give some pointers as far as architecture goes.
