The events of Holy Week are presented through enticing arrangements of familiar hymns and spirituals plus narration, culminating with the crucifixion story in a moving rendition of “O Sacred He Now Wounded.” There are opportunities to include vocal solos, as well as, congregational singing. The accompaniment can be provided by piano, CD track, or a chamber ensemble of five instruments. A further option is an organ part that can work with just piano or can be added to the chamber instruments. Finally, there are instructions for lighting and extinguishing seven candles ending in darkness with all softly singing of the first verse of “Fairest Lord Jesus.”

That name is Jesus Christ. He’s the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the reason we have Christmas. You know His teachings—love your enemies, love one another, and if you love me, keep my commandments. But despite knowing all this, people still wonder, who is Jesus and why is He still relevant today? In 60 seconds, here’s the short version: We start with His title: Christ. It points to the fact that Jesus was not just a man, or a teacher. They arrive at the place where the crosses are being set up. Others are being tied to their crosses. Jesus is stripped and led to His own cross. They throw Him down on it. There are cries as the others are nailed to their crosses. The nails are hammered through Jesus's wrists and feet as He screams. Then slowly, the crosses are erected as Romans pulls the ropes. Jesus is lifted high in the air. He hangs on the cross, tired and in pain. He prays for those in the crowd. He asks God to forgive them because they don't know what they do. The crowd murmurs at the feet of the cross. Annas and Caiaphas comment that He saved others. They wonder why He doesn't save Himself. The crowd starts to jeer. They urge Him to save Himself.
